Announcing 1MillionStartups Mexico!

A new era for 1MillionStartups has begun: We are delighted to announce that we have launched our next local chapter, 1MillionStartups Mexico!

Together with our partners and Directors of 1MillionStartups Mexico, Helian Leigon, the President and CEO of the Global Honor Entrepreneurship Society, and Marcus Dantus, Founder and CEO of StartupMexico, we will expand the 1MillionStartups Community to Latin America. 

With our partners, we look forward to: 

• Spreading the Global Entrepreneurship Declaration worldwide and supporting more leaders in raising awareness of the positive impact of entrepreneurship. The Global Entrepreneurship Declaration is our call to the international community to support and promote entrepreneurship as a key driver to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. It was welcomed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and signed in the United Nations HQ in Vienna, Austria, in 2017.

• Supporting founders in Latin America in building their impact and their business by connecting to an inspiring global community of impact founders. With 1MillionStartups Mexico we hope to inspire Mexican entrepreneurs to continue to found, grow and scale solutions that tackle the world’s challenges.

About Marcus Dantus: 

Marcus is the founder and CEO of Startup México, one of the leading incubators and accelerators in Latin America. As one of Mexico’s most successful serial entrepreneurs Marcus in innovation and technology, Marcus has built a wide array of successful companies, from Simitel (a pioneer company in voice recognition and software development), Mexico.com (the first internet portal in Mexico and Latin American telecommunications pioneer), and many more. 

Marcus now acts as a Shark on Shark Tank Mexico (SONY), Managing Director of Dux Capital, Managing Director Mexico for the Global Entrepreneurship Network and guest professor at IPADE Business School. 

About Helian Leigon: 

Helian Leigon is the CEO of the Global Honor Entrepreneurship Society, an ecosystem dedicated to supporting startups and promoting entrepreneurship. He is an experienced private equity investor focused on Mexico, Colombia, Central America and other Caribbean and Latin American Countries, with a focus on financial services investing, growth equity with control and significant minority positions. 

Helian has been leading the 1MillionStartups activities in Mexico since 2018 and we look forward to continuing to grow the 1MillionStartups global community together!
