SDG 10 startup of the week: More Than One Perspective
MTOP connects companies and refugees on the labor market, provides support for both sides, and shows the potential of successful integration.
14.07.2020.
MTOP is a social enterprise which was founded in 2016 by Nina Poxleitner, Julian Richter, and Lisa-Maria Sommer. For 2 years, they worked as fellows at Teach for Austria, where they witnessed recently migrated refugees struggle with integration in Austrian secondary schools. In an effort to solve this issue, MTOP was born!
The core of our young and dynamic social business follows one goal: To connect highly skilled refugees and migrants with suitable companies in the Austrian labor market. In the course of this win-win-situation, we demonstrate the potential of integration, teaching executives how to leverage diversity, and help to overcome prejudices.
To make our mission a reality MTOP selects, trains, and pairs highly-skilled and qualified refugees and third-country nationals with companies throughout Austria.
"Since 2016 a lot has happened. We, by now had more than 300 participants in our program of which 70% have started working at different companies. Our alumni are success stories we are really proud of! This is only possible thanks to the 80 companies of our MTOP business network that decide to offer our talented associates from IT, Technology or Economics to continue their professional careers in Austria.
Our journey is ongoing - Join us and let us see more than just one perspective!"
