Opening: the opening by the Austrian Minister of Digital & Economic Affairs, a high-level UNIDO official and an influential investor already set the context of connecting governments, international organizations, and businesses to work together.
Connect to impact success story: showcased a great example of connections within the 1MillionStartups community. Started at the 1MSGC 2018 it will transform the lives of Maasai women in Kenya.
Keynote by Patrik Gustavson: the story about the world's first combined waste-to-energy plant and ski-slope is not only a best practice solution but an example of how interconnecting different functions can create a higher overall impact
Panel: Through Partnerships to SDGs
Five different organizations presented their everyday efforts to connect and build partnerships. How partnering contributes to leveraging the individual effort? Why are partnerships important if we want to achieve the SDG by 2030? And lessons learned on how to do better.
Focus countries: considering the global reach of 1MS, each year 2 countries are in focus. This year these were Zambia & Singapore
Panel: The new face of power; How is GenZ changing the world
The new generation is more and more engaged and visible. From movements like “Fridays for the Future” to young startups, we met Generation Z, learned about their motivation and expectations.
The ice breaker: Impact and awesomeness by The Good Tribe Vibe
This interactive part was a great exercise to truly meet new members and get to know each other.
Panel: Invest to Impact If money rules the world how can we use it to create a positive impact. Different points of view, experiences, and actions from VCs, corporates, and entrepreneurs.
Panel: Tech Impact & SDGs The ever faster development of technology is impacting our lives for the better or worse. The status quo and its consequences as seen by experts and practitioners. And how can technology be used to create real-life solutions, to move the world towards the SDGs?
Presentation by World Data: What you measure you can change. The importance of global data and what we can do with it
1 Minute startups pitch: one of the main reason why 1MillionStartups exist is to give our members more visibility and exposure: members presented their solutions in three sessions of one-minute pitches
Fuckup nights powered by 1MillionStartups: faliour is a part of the entrepreneurship world and our members and guests went through it. FuckupNights Vienna was there to show us that we can learn from it and have fun while doing it, too.
