SDG5 Startup of the week: Entreprenelle

Entreprenelle is a Social enterprise that strives to empower current and prospective female entrepreneurs.

05.02.2020.

With a strong will and a passion for marketing, 25-year-old Rania Ayman has created a platform to mentor and help women of all ages through the process of starting their own businesses.

Since her first year at university, Rania Ayman started looking for jobs in marketing and advertising, but employers in such a demanding field were reluctant to hire a woman, she recounts. “Because I am a woman, they thought it meant that I would not be able to go out as I would like,” said Rania.

Entreprenelle is the Egyptian social development & business impact organization that mainly aims to support local women economically by educating, training and linking them to all the possible entrepreneurship resources. Entreprenelle has been successfully impacting more than 50,000 Egyptian women generating more than 1000 Projects in 4 years.

Founded in 2016, Entreprenelle wants to help fellow women become entrepreneurs by providing them with relevant education, training, awareness, resources, and support. They aim to cater to all types of women. This is evident, for example, in the fact that it provides online content, which caters to stay-home-mothers who aren’t always able to physically attend workshops. Entreprenelle also hosts several events in Cairo, Alexandria, and other governorates, in the hope of reaching more as many women as possible.

"We want to build a new " Localised Arabic Content platform for Potential entrepreneurs and Jobseekers " who find a Huge problem Getting knowledge and training from English websites about Entrepreneurship, Job Challenges, and Personal Development. Our Problems solution solve Unemployment, Poor Employment, Expensive training for Females Age group of 18-24 ( Fresh Graduates - Un Employed - Jobseekers )/ Age Group 24-34 ( Single & Working Moms , Divorced & Business Opportunities Seekers. )
We are Working on a very Clear BMC after testing and Validating it on Steps that are bit holden back as the Platform it self will cost us Development NOT Content. - One time budget shot."

With Entreprenelle, the founder Rania faced another set of challenges “because there was no such thing as a social entrepreneurship in Egypt...I faced stigma in the field because I was young and doing something for women,” she says. “People didn’t want to work with me at first because they thought that I would not be committed enough and conform to the ideal gender roles, which is getting married and staying at home...They didn’t understand the concept of a business model that makes money and helps the society but is not an NGO.”

Entreprenelle works with four aspects: awareness, education, resources accessibility and economic environment. Most people know Entreprenelle through inspirational events where they explain to women what entrepreneurship and startups are, how to start your own business and show them success stories.

On the 7th of March, they are organizing the leading Women Entrepreneurship Event in the MENA region, "She Can" to celebrate all the women who could make it, will do and are planning to! So join them TO MAKE IT!

“SHE CAN” this year is themed to the Starters, who fall fast, fall better and never say that a “Fresh Start” is late. It’s also for the ones who made progress and achieved a lot but want to pause, reflect & re-start!

What is "SHE CAN" for you?

"That is a day in which we celebrate & support women entrepreneurs, leaders, decision-makers, investors and more. It’s a chance for all types of players to share experience, support and invest in rising women entrepreneurs and preneurs to be!

From inspiring & educational talks, workshops, panel discussions, and masterclasses to exhibitions, competitions, mentorship & networking activities, awards, funding opportunities and a lot more, filling up a one day event at the heart of Cairo.

SHE CAN has always been about the big and even small partners coming together to support the female entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt & MENA."

Check out their work and share it with your startup friends who would benefit from their offers.
