What is VALLEAN Foundation?

VALLEAN foundation is private family foundation founded by Armin Franz. The purpose focuses on investments in sustainable ideas and businesses solving the most challenging problems for the future. The Foundation follows a holistic investment approach by providing financial, business and personal support for the founders and entrepreneurs.

“Within the set of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal  6 – Clean Water and Sanitation – counts to me as one of the most essential ones as it is clearly linked with other goals like for example good health and well-being (SDG 3). To improve sanitation and access to drinking water, there needs to be increased collective responsibility from the capital market, entrepreneurs, companies, and governments. There are reasonable products, services, and innovations on the market. We want them to take effect. That is why we are directly invested in Water Disinfection Innovation and Off-Canalisation Sanitary Systems.” said Armin Franz, founder of VALLEAN foundation.

How are you contributing to SDG 6?

"Access to clean water and safely managed sanitation is a fundamental human right and builds the basis for a healthy and prosperous life. Two of our investments HELIOZ and ASIA Industrial UK ltd put all their efforts into achieving this fundamental goal" explained Mr. Franz.

The mission of HELIOZ is to reduce the threat of waterborne diseases in vulnerable communities of the Global South through the provision of innovative and environmentally friendly safe water solutions (SDG 6.1). HELIOZ is relying on the environmentally friendly and affordable method of Solar Water Disinfection (SODIS) with the UV indicator WADI. WADI was specifically designed by HELIOZ for communities that are in need of an easy-to-use solution for water disinfection.

ASIA Industrial UK is an international partner for vacuum sanitary systems for railway applications. With leading state-of-the-art product development, high efficiency in water use, and

ASIA industrial UK takes important steps to raise the quality-level of sanitary systems for trains and other off canalization toilets. One of the principal topics of ASIA is the change of sanitary systems in trains away from old pollutive systems to the point of integrated vacuum systems with sustainable waste removal.
