At 1MillionStartups we care about your privacy! You entrust us with sensitive information, and we take that responsibility seriously.

On May 25th the General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR (which is a European Union privacy law) has become enforceable and we are GDPR compliant!
This privacy policy explains how 1MillionStartups collects, stores, uses and protects any information that you provide, or that you authorise someone else to provide, when you use this website https://1millionstartups.com/ (the “Website”), when you become our member, sign up for updates (newsletter), sign the Global Entrepreneurship Declaration, use the chatbot integrated on our Website etc.

This Privacy Policy applies to Website and services owned by 1MillionStartups and operated by or on behalf of 1MillionStartups. We have no influence on links that emanate from our services. We are not responsible for whether these providers or the operators of the social media platforms comply with the legal data protection regulations.

By using the Website, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate. We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect the changes in our business and practices, and so you should review this page periodically. When we change the policy in a material manner we will let you know and update the ‘last updated’ header at the top of this page. Any significant changes to this Privacy Policy will also be clearly indicated on the home page of the Website. 1. The information 1MillionStartups collects

You are not required to provide any personal information to view the content on the Website. However, you may have to do so by completing the application forms on various sections of the Website, e.g. when you subscribe for the 1MillionStartups updates (newsletter), ask questions via contact form, by giving personal details relating to you in the application form when applying to become a member of 1MillionStartups (as a contact person for your startup), when signing the Global Entrepreneurship Declaration, answering questionnaires and surveys sent by us, entering competition or using the integrated chat bot connected to your social media channel. Examples of this personal data include your name and surname, your email address, link to social media channels (that allows us to see the content you post there, mostly regarding your startup, but can contain personal data).

We do not collect or process special categories of personal data, as defined under GDPR. Also, we do not knowingly collect or solicit any personal data from anyone under the age of sixteen. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under age sixteen without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

2. How 1MillionStartups uses this information

We use your personal data to enable us to register you and provide you with access to 1MillionStartups services and the 1MillionStartups content on the Website. It will also enable us to contact you by email or social media channels provided where necessary concerning EU-Startups. 1MillionStartups will only use the information you provide on the relevant sections of the Website or in the application form in order to
1) process the relevant form (answer your query, register you as a member etc.)
2) provide you with access to content
3) provide you with relevant research, information and commercial materials selected by 1MillionStartups.

The Website does not collect IP addresses from Website visitors. IP addresses are temporarily checked only to block a blacklist of dangerous IPs and networks.

1MillionStartups uses up-to-date data storage and security techniques to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorized modification or unlawful destruction or accidental loss. All 1MillionStartups team members and any third parties it engages in processing your personal data are obliged to respect the confidentiality of your data.

Please note that the Internet is not a secure medium and although we will do our best to protect your data, we cannot guarantee the security of any data transmitted to the 1MillionStartups Website or through 1MillionStartups itself. Any transmission is at your own risk, just like everywhere else on the Internet.

Personal data, which you have voluntarily provided to us during registration, can be stored for commercial and tax reasons for up to 10 years.

• to request your data to be deleted and forgotten (we’ll make sure your personal data is permanently removed from both our server as well as from any third party partners)
